![]() ![]() You cant extract the runway faces as this simply fills in all the holes again. The last step is to collapse all the vertical lines. I tried doing them all at once but it made a mess so played it safe rather. The boolean operations were performed one block at a time - using 'boolean difference' and then 'boolean subtract'. And yes DO extrude the runway, don't leave it flat, if you do you will still get vertical faces that get added during the subtraction process which may be impossible to remove. The new Materials Palette in my opinion is a bit of an improvement however, it does seem a bit incomplete also. Thanks in advance for whatever you can provide. Now I cannot find them at all, for any of the releases. For example I had to join the vertices as per red outline to get a solid extrusion. The main functions of the winglets are to improve the traction of the motorcycle by increasing its downforce and improving the cornering ability of the vehicle. Back when I first got Wings 3D (Version 1.4.1 I think), there was a page that provide these types of info. ![]() ![]() You will know if you have left these when you extrude the runway as there will be bits 'left behind' or voids that should not be there. If you’re moving beyond foam board wings, 3D printing is an excellent way to create an accurate airfoil, and Tom Stanton provides us with an excellent guide to modeling wing sections for easy. What IS important is to not leave any hanging spaces within the shape. It IS however essential to create a mirror image top and bottom so definitely select by dragging in from outside the object both for interior lines and vertices (ones on the edge dont matter as they are 'clamped' together - although there are actually two vertices there - it's true) Quote:Anybody knows about good tutorials or books to improve modelling skills Sorry. Wings3d: Caving objects with ToolsConnect (simulating 'boolean' operation) Micheus Vieira 517 subscribers Subscribe 2. Boolean difference is supposed to do this for you. If you plan on taking 3d modeling into any sort of collaborative environment you may have problems. So after writing all that about connecting top and bottom vertices I managed to cutout the runway without doing it. Please use blender or something better than wings. ![]()
